James R. Bernsten
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

As chief information officer, Jim Bernsten manages the information technology organization for CoBank and Farm Credit Leasing. As such, he is responsible for ensuring that business and information technology efforts effectively and efficiently support CoBank’s strategies. Mr. Bernsten is a member of the bank’s Operating Committee and Senior Leadership Team.

Prior to joining CoBank in 2002, Mr. Bernsten held a variety of information systems, planning and management consulting positions during his 14-year career with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting.

Mr. Bernsten is active in corporate philanthropy, and is currently a member of the board of Girls Incorporated of Metro Denver. He received a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and a master’s degree from the University of Colorado.
