Gary Fitzgerald is responsible for the day-to-day operations of CoBank’s Internal Audit Division, including staffing, training, planning and coordination of all Internal Audit activities. He is responsible for ensuring that audits meet regulatory requirements and are carried out in a professional manner. Mr. Fitzgerald is a member of the bank’s Senior Leadership Team.

Mr. Fitzgerald has almost 35 years of internal audit experience in banking and financial services. He joined CoBank in 1999, after serving as senior vice president and general auditor for Firstar Corporation (now US Bank Corporation), a multi-state financial services company.

Mr. Fitzgerald has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
